Sani’s beams out ultraviolet rays everytime he steps in front of my lens. He has stepped in and has left no room for darkness. This Moroccan born male model – Yahya a.k.a ‘Sani’ 22, is not only a model but also a close friend of mine . I have been fortunate enough to capture him in a variety of looks and, for this particular series I wanted to let his persona beam brighter than our fellow sun, ‘Ra’.

I’m a sucker for neutral colour schemes including black and whites – but for this series I wanted to see COLOUR!! Purples, Yellows and sky blues !! These energetic hues could not be better showcased if not with the help of Sani – we been in talks for this shoot for a few months before it happened. Everything from the colour pallet to the props used on set, was chosen and hand picked by him and myself . That made it even much more personal.

Our beloved Cansel this time took the role of the make-up artist – painting these beautiful murals on his face which contoured him so effortlessly.

I tried to capture spontaneous moments of him smiling and doing a shoot that was very different to my more cold series of high fashion shoots . He is a true chameleon at heart and is able to change so easily depending on what look he was asked to convey .
